In Kiev, on the first day of the quarantine on the weekend of November 14, the police had to raid the Havana restaurant due to violations of restrictions. In addition, the institution’s employees attacked journalists who were doing editorial work.
Law enforcement officers had to take the restaurant by assault, because the establishment’s employees did not comply with their legal requirements. This is reported by the Kiev police.
By the way, the Havana Restaurant in Kiev ignored the quarantine: the police seized the establishment – photo, video
Background to the conflict
The Havana restaurant functioned as usual, despite the decision of the government and local authorities to introduce the weekend quarantine in Kiev.
First, a film crew from one of the television channels arrived at the institution. A verbal conflict arose between them and the workers of “Havana”, and one of the workers beat the journalist.
Then the restaurant workers locked the journalists in one of the institution’s premises and did not let them leave. The media workers then addressed the police with a message about the obstruction of their legal activities.
Police assault
When the police came to the call, the restaurant workers turned off the lights, locked the doors and did not let law enforcement officers enter. Therefore, the latter called for reinforcements and stormed the institution.
After the assault on Havana, the police entered the establishment, took the visitors out, and drew up an administrative protocol against the restaurant’s director.
However, the administrative protocol is not the worst. Two workers, aged 31 and 38, were arrested in the same restaurant hall. A criminal case was opened against him for attacking journalists. Criminals face a freedom restriction of up to 5 years.
