Belarus said Poland and Lithuania should cut their diplomatic staff in Minsk.

Poland reacted to Belarus’ declaration calling for ambassadors to reduce the diplomatic corps in the country. Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said both countries do not plan to withdraw their ambassadors.

“We are convinced that communication channels should be preserved, and at this stage we are not going to call our ambassadors for consultations,” wrote Zbigniew Rau.

According to BelTA, formerly Belarusian Foreign Ministry press secretary Anatoly Glaz said that the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s proposals to reduce Lithuanian and Polish diplomatic staff in Belarus are binding.

Minsk ambassadors in these countries were summoned to the country for consultations.

Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian ambassador will continue his work in Belarus, in addition, Kiev will not reduce the level of diplomatic representation in Minsk.

It was also reported that Ukraine intends to join the EU sanctions against Belarus.
