CNN sources claim that the package addressed to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, contained the powerful poison of ricin.
US police this week intercepted a package of poison that was sent to President Donald Trump. On September 19, CNN reported this with reference to two sources.
Tests have shown the presence of ricin in the package, a powerful highly toxic plant poison. When ingested, it causes nausea, vomiting, and internal bleeding, followed by liver, spleen, and kidney failure, and death from collapse of the circulatory system.
The FBI told the television station that, together with the Secret Service, they are investigating a suspicious letter received by the US government post office.
All correspondence addressed to the head of the White House is verified outside his residence prior to delivery.
In April 2013, ricin was found in an envelope addressed to the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Mississippi resident Lee Duchke was arrested on charges of sending poisonous letters. In 2014, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
