All on board were killed, while two cadets were able to jump shortly before the plane crashed. One of them was seriously injured and died in hospital on September 26; the life of the second survivor, according to the available information, is not in danger.
At the moment, the bodies of those killed in the accident have not been identified, this requires a DNA test.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, a few minutes before the accident, the commander of the aircraft reported an engine failure and requested a landing, but for an unknown reason it crashed in front of the runway. At the same time, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Andriy Taran said that, according to a preliminary expert assessment, one of the sensors on the left engine failed and not the engine itself.
He also noted that, most likely, before the fall, the side caught the wing on the ground.
September 26 in Ukraine has been declared a day of mourning for those killed in the plane crash.
