Sergei Shkarlet was found guilty of plagiarism
Fragments of Shkarlet’s work were sent to three independent experts: from the USA, the Czech Republic and Poland. All reported plagiarism.
The plagiarism was revealed in three works by the acting Minister of Education and Science, Sergei Shkarlet. The corresponding decision on Friday, September 11, was announced at a meeting of the Ethics Committee of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NAOKVO), reports Liga.net.
“We are forced to declare plagiarism in three works. Let us present this in our conclusion. And there is a corresponding table indicating incorrect links with signs of academic plagiarism,” said commission chair Sergey Kvit.
It should be noted that the commission provided excerpts of Shkarlet’s work to three independent experts: the professor of ethics and law, the United States attorney Christine Moriarty, the international Czech expert Tomasz Foltinek, and the Polish expert Krzysztof Gutovsky, an expert on piracy and plagiarism, which is a member of the Warsaw District Court. All three admitted that in the scientific heritage of acting. Minister of Education and Science is plagiarism.
Shkarlet did not attend the NAOKVO committee meeting, but sent his lawyer. He tried to challenge President Sergei Kvit, motivating him with the hostile attitude he supposedly has towards Shkarlet.
NAOKVO undertakes to publish the results of the verification on its website.
As a reminder, studies have shown that almost 90% of Shkarlet’s dissertation is plagiarism.
It was previously reported that the Cabinet is investigating Shkarlet’s possible plagiarism. The investigation was initiated by Sergey Shkarlet himself, says Denis Shmygal, adding that plagiarism should be discussed when there is evidence.
