Kiev team “Dynamo” arrived in Belgium for the Champions League playoff game against Ghent on a charter flight.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many aspects of daily life. Boryspil airport looked terrifyingly deserted in the middle of the day. There was not the usual noise of tourists or queues at the check-in counters, only a few planes could be seen from the windows of the waiting room. Arriving at the terminal on a club bus, Dynamo quickly passed mandatory temperature control, passport control and customs and headed for the Windrose plane, which took off even a little earlier than the scheduled time.
The flight time went almost unnoticed. Soccer players had it in different ways: someone listened to music or watched movies, someone just slept, and some played cards in small businesses. Benjamin Verbic and Tomasz Kendzer stood out against the background of the others, playing dice throughout the flight. They both reacted emotionally to what was happening on the dice board.
Almost three hours later, around 6:00 p.m. local time (the difference with Kiev is one hour), the plane landed at Ostend airport, and from there the Dynamo team went by bus to Ghent, where The day after tomorrow the Champions League match will be played with the team of the same name.
After transferring to Ghent, which lasted 40 minutes, and checking into the hotel, the team will have dinner and rest, and on Tuesday they will continue preparation for the match. In the evening, scheduled pre-match events will take place: a press conference by Mircea Lucescu and Vitaly Buyalsky, as well as a team training at Gent Stadium, where the game will take place.
We remind you that 20 outfield players and three goalkeepers went to the game in Belgium with the Dynamo.
