Britain is the first country in the world to receive a coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech. The first doses of the vaccine have already started arriving in the UK.
It is reported by the British television channel Sky News.
Pfizer’s vaccine is expected to be distributed to 50 hospitals next week, and people over 80 and nursing home staff will be the first to receive it.
The vaccine will then be delivered to mass vaccination centers, which are located in conference halls and sports stadiums, and then to rooms in hospitals and medical centers.
After receiving new doses, possibly in 2021, other risk groups will receive the vaccine. Most of the vaccinations are scheduled between January and April 2021.
It is noted that the country may experience delays in supplying the vaccine to nursing homes due to difficulties in transporting and storing the vaccine.
Recall that yesterday Britain was the first in the world to approve the use of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines. This vaccine has been shown to be 95% effective.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the WHO asked the British government to provide access to information about the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine, which would allow it to be added to the emergency list.
