According to the official website of the Kiev Dynamo, at the age of 67, the famous player of the capital club Peter Petrovich Slobodyan died.
His “Dinamo” stage of his professional football career fell to the period from 1975 to 1979, during which he achieved, together with the team, significant achievements in various competitions. In particular, Slobodyan became the owner of the 1975 UEFA Super Cup, the USSR champions in 1975 and 1979. And, as a result, he was awarded the title of Master of International Class Sports.
In five seasons with the Dynamo, he managed to score around a hundred goals, but regular injuries prevented him from achieving great success: At 27, Slobodyan was already forced to end his career for this reason, having managed to play just two matches for the selection of the Union.
The end of a professional player’s career did not become a reason for leaving football affairs. The work of a teacher in the Department of Physical Education of Kiev University named after T. Shevchenko was gradually replaced by the post of head of the department, to which was added the performance for the Dynamo Kiev veteran team, followed by a short work on your head.
After dropping out of college in 1998, Slobodyan took a risky step by headlining the Kiev Obolon in 2001, but the success with the “Brewers” was overwhelming, reaching the major leagues in the shortest time possible. After working with the team until 2004, Petr Petrovich took a two-year break to return to the team in 2006, but the key to success was already behind.
After finishing his work with the Kiev club in 2008, Slobodyan returned to teaching.
By decree of the President of Ukraine, in 2020 the former Kiev Dynamo player received the Order of Merit of the II degree.
“He left us an extraordinary person, who left a brilliant mark in the history of Dynamo Kiev. Petr Slobodyan is an example of a true Dynamo player, a fighter on a football field, who never stopped trying to overcome difficulties. that he faced during his career, including numerous injuries. “
All who had the honor of meeting Pyotr Petrovich will always remember him as a person who knew how to overcome difficulties and always remained a professional in his field. On my own behalf and on behalf of all Dynamo players, I express my deepest condolences to Pyotr Petrovich’s family and friends, “he expressed his condolences to Kyiv Dynamo President Igor Surkis.
