Parliament is considering two options to get out of the situation: “soft” – the bill for the immediate return of statements and “hard” – the option proposed by the president.

The People’s Servant explained why the Verkhovna Rada has not yet considered President Volodymyr Zelensky’s bill on the Constitutional Court. This is stated in the comments of the president of the faction David Arakhamia, who is at the disposal of the UNN.

According to him, the People’s Deputies began their work with a softer option to overcome the crisis after the decision of the Constitutional Court, that is, with a bill for the immediate return of statements. The president’s “tougher” bill is suitable “now for a complete rectification of the situation.”

“The deputies are looking for options for an optimal way out of the crisis. There is a softer option. And there is a more responsible and tough one. Today (November 3 – ed.) The corresponding parliamentary commission considered only the bill on the return immediate statements. As a kind of transition project, allowing at least partially to return Although we are well aware that this project does not solve a global problem, the presidential bill, in my opinion, this initiative sets the key points very clearer and solves the key task of restoring the rule of law much more correctly – today (November 3 – ed.) it was not considered at all by the commission, since, in the opinion of the deputies, it is a highly effective educational weapon, but for a total correction of the situation ”, believes the head of the faction.

According to him, in recent days, the people’s representatives have acquired a whole “arsenal of legislative initiatives” to avoid new decisions of the Constitutional Court, which “according to many experts, may well undermine the anti-corruption infrastructure, the visa-free regime and destroy alliances with our international partners “. …

“Among these initiatives, I would highlight the same bill on the immediate return of the law on electronic declaration of officials. It is also possible to change the proportion of votes when making decisions in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine or change the minimum quota when making decisions. Or you can even change the budget funding. Although, without a doubt, all these are half measures that do not allow to completely restore the perfection of the system. This problem is solved only by the president’s bill on a full reboot of the KSU. But, I emphasize again, today (November 3 – ed.) The committee did not consider this bill “, – said Arahamia.

The People’s Deputy also pointed out that today the parliament is simultaneously pursuing various scenarios, in particular, it urgently returns electronic statements, and also makes a political statement to the Constitutional Court with an appeal for voluntary resignation.

“Parliament, I will say additionally, is closely following the Constitutional Court meetings and is ready to move immediately to more decisive measures in the event of new threats to the anti-corruption infrastructure or key reforms in the country,” he added.

Previously, the popular deputies requested the resignation of the judges of the Constitutional Court, in particular those who supported the decision of October 27 on the unconstitutionality of the law of responsibility for lying in the statement.

Later it was reported that the judges are not going to resign, because they see no reason for it.
