The government is preparing a proposal for the vaccine manufacturers to transport the drugs on the Mriya plane in order to speed up the reception of the vaccines by Ukraine in exchange or to receive them out of turn, says the people’s deputy.
Servant of the People, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Health Committee Mikhail Radutsky says that the Ukrainian authorities will offer their services to transport the drug on the Mriya plane to the manufacturers of the coronavirus vaccine in exchange for receiving the vaccine. He made this statement on Ukraine 24 TV channel.
He recalled that, according to the agreement within the framework of the COVAX initiative, Ukraine should receive the vaccine in late February and early March.
“But today, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the president of Ukraine, they are negotiating with the manufacturers, with the presidents of the countries where the manufacturers are located, to receive this vaccine as soon as possible,” said the popular deputy .
According to him, the government is preparing a proposal for manufacturers such as Pfizer, BioNTech and AstraZeneca to use the world’s largest aircraft, the An-225, to transport the vaccine.
“The most powerful aircraft in the world can be equipped with special equipment to maintain the temperature of -70, and for this, the reception of the vaccine can be accelerated if we deliver this vaccine to other orders that go to manufacturing companies. We will ask to receive out of turn, out of turn vaccine quotas, “said the deputy.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that negotiations on a vaccine are ongoing with India, Britain, France and other countries. And the Foreign Ministry said they are also negotiating with China.
