As of January 1, citizens who have turned 65, with 35 years of work for men and 30 years for women, will receive 40% of the minimum wage, reported the press service of the Pension Fund.
In Ukraine, as of January 1, 2021, the size of the minimum old-age pension for unemployed retirees will increase to 2.4 thousand UAH. This was announced on December 31 by the press service of the Pension Fund on its Facebook page.
The department explained that the pension will grow due to the increase in the minimum wage in Ukraine up to 6 thousand UAH In 2020 mthe minimum wage was set at 5 thousand UAH.
Citizens who have turned 65, with 35 years of work experience for men and 30 years for women, will have an old-age pension of 40% of the minimum wage, the statement read.
The Pension Fund noted that after dismissal, working pensioners will recalculate pension payments taking into account minimum salary on the date of cessation of activity.
By data Pension Fund, there are more than 11.2 million pensioners in Ukraine. The average pension is UAH 3,410.6. In October, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal predicted that in 15 years there will be twice as many retirees in Ukraine as the working population, and the state will not be able to pay them pensions.
The pension reform was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on October 3, 2017 and on October 11 of the same year the document entered into force.
