Before his death, Maradona wrote in a letter to his lawyer that his body should be embalmed.
The body of former Argentine soccer player and coach Diego Maradona can be exhumed and placed in a mausoleum specially built for him. This is reported by The Sun.
According to the newspaper, a few weeks before his death, Maradona left a letter to his lawyer Mathias Morlaix, in which he expressed his desire to “pay tribute to Vladimir Lenin.”
“After thinking about it a lot, I would like to express the desire that after my death my body be embalmed and displayed surrounded by my trophies, personal and memorable things,” the lawyer quoted Maradona.
He noted that there are plans to create a mausoleum for fans to visit.
“The proposal is serious and concrete, but ultimately it is the responsibility of the Argentine Football Federation,” added the lawyer.
Note that Maradona was buried on November 26.
It was previously reported that Maradona’s personal physician was charged with negligent homicide.
Recall that Maradona died on November 25, 2020 at the age of 61.
Before that, the coffin with Maradona’s body was hidden by the crowd trying to break through to say goodbye to the footballer.
