Nikol Pashinyan named a way to resolve the crisis in Armenia
Nikol Pashinyan proposed to the “parliamentary and interested forces” to hold early parliamentary elections in 2021.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that he is ready to resign if the people so decide. Early parliamentary elections must be held, he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, December 25.
I am ready to step down as prime minister as a result of a popular decision. I can leave the post of prime minister only by decision of the people, – he wrote.
Pashinyan stressed that he is ready to continue the leadership of Armenia “in these difficult times in case the confidence of the people is restored.”
“There is only one way to get an answer to all these questions: holding early parliamentary elections,” added Pashinyan.
The prime minister proposed to “parliamentary and interested forces” to hold early parliamentary elections in 2021.
It was previously reported that anti-government protests in Yerevan resumed on December 22. The opposition has declared a national strike.
Anti-Nikol Pashinyan protesters were also reported to block government buildings and set up tents in Republic Square.
