The Batkivshchyna Party has filed a lawsuit against the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption due to the suspension of state funding for the political force. The party demands to recognize the illegal decision of the NAPK and cancel it.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPK) has stopped state funding for the Batkivshchyna party. This is stated in the party’s claim, filed on November 23 at the Kiev District Administrative Court.
The party asks the court to declare the actions of NAPK employees illegal by drawing a conclusion on the results of the analysis of a political party’s report on property, income, expenses, published on the agency’s website. The party also asks to declare certain points of this conclusion illegal.
Among the other requirements of the lawsuit is canceling the NACP’s order on the suspension of state funding for the party in the fourth quarter of 2020.
In its report, the NAPC indicated that it found the following violations:
- lack of report from the municipal party organization of the city of Ukrainka;
- lack of information on the presence of financial obligations to the company Finate for 45 thousand UAH;
- signing invoices to accept sponsorship contributions in the form of brochures, brochures and posters by persons who at the time of signing these documents were abroad and could not take legal action to accept sponsorship contributions (applies to regional organizations in Sumy and Kiev);
- in relation to donors of the Kiev city organization and the Kirovograd regional organization, a discrepancy was revealed between donor income and the amount of their contributions to these cells in 2017-2020;
- The agreements with various companies for a total amount of more than 14 million UAH were dated prior to the opening of the bank accounts indicated in them, in which the NAPC sees indications of a violation of art. 203 of the Civil Code of Ukraine (we are talking about the expenditure of funds that the party received from the state budget as compensation for the costs of the parliamentary election campaign).
