The intent of participants in the January 6 assault on the Capitol to “capture and kill” US lawmakers is manifested in the petition of federal prosecutors in the case of QAnon shaman Jacob Anthony Chensley, The Washington Post reports.
Participants in the riots in the United States, which stormed the US Parliament building, the Capitol, on January 6, intended to “capture and kill the elected officials of the United States government.” This is stated in a petition by the Arizona district attorney to extend the arrest of QAnon shaman Jacob Anthony Chensley, writes The Washington Post.
“Powerful evidence, including Chensley’s own words and deeds on Capitol Hill, indicates that the intent of those who stormed the Capitol was to capture and kill elected officials of the United States government,” the document says.
Chensley left a note on the table of US Vice President Michael Pence, who chairs the Senate, “Justice will come, it’s only a matter of time.” He denied that his note was a threat, but the prosecution disagrees, the petition says. Prosecutors intend to demand Chensley’s arrest, noting in particular his statements about his intention to return to Washington for the inauguration.
