Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach said that his fellow athletes, Alexander Usyk and Vasily Lomachenko, are not those who live according to all the canons of the church.
The religiosity of Ukrainian boxers Alexander Usik and Vasily Lomachenko has been played out. Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach told the Meta-ratings.com.ua site in an interview published on May 10.
“As for their faith … Chances are they are the same believers as most of us. And the rest is pathos and pretense. Most of their orthodox statements are meaningless. And they are not of those who live on according to all the canons of the church So, in my opinion, this is rubbish on your part or a cover for faith of a true and truthful answer, “he said.
Redkach considers “at least hypocritical” Usik’s statement that “Crimea is from God,” in response to a question from Dmitry Gordon, the founder of the GORDON publication, whose boxer considers the peninsula to be occupied.
“I think they could make money in Russia even without such pronounced propaganda. In the end, many stars of the Ukrainian show live and make money in Russia and don’t touch on any political issue,” said Redkach.
He explained that he personally knew Usik and Lomachenko.
Redkach, 34, a Shostka native from the Sumy region, is a lightweight boxer.
Usik, 33, a native of Simferopol, went from heavyweight (champion) to heavyweight.
Lomachenko, 32, born in the Belgorod-Dniester Odessa region, is the world boxing champion in the featherweight and lightweight categories.
All three act in professional sports.
