First violations registered in elections – OPORA

Some polling stations lack ballot boxes and voting booths, and some have opened early.

In the local elections, the first infractions were registered, in particular, problems with the provision of voting tables and early voting. This was reported by the OPORA press service on Sunday, October 25.

In the Kiev region, there are not enough ballot boxes in five polling stations. The same problem is observed at two sites in the Vinnitsa region.

There are no voting booths in two polling stations in Zhytomyr. In one of them, the booth is supposedly made in the form of a puppet theater screen, and in the second section, the booths are completely absent. The commissions say the lack of booths is due to the contractor not having time to make them on time.

In the Khmelnytsky region, at a polling station in the town of Yosipovka, the first voter voted at 7:50. The preparatory meeting of PECs # 321133 in Bila Tserkva and # 681460 in Khmelnytsky started before the required date. By law, it must start 45 minutes before the vote, at 7:15 a.m. At the same time, in the Khmelnytsky compound there are no stamps on the ballot box control sheets.

In the Vinnytsia (in PEC # 050515) and Zhytomyr (# 180511 and # 181115) regions, OPORA observers were unable to attend the morning meeting of the commissions.

Recall that local elections have started in Ukraine. The polling stations opened at 8:00 and will run until 20:00. The first results of the exit polls will be announced after their closing.

It was also reported that due to the “day of silence” violations, the police opened 48 criminal cases. In all, the police received more than 1,000 reports of rape, most of them related to illegal campaigns.
