Yermak called Fokine’s strong statements a “personal position.”

The comments of the deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Minsk Trilateral Contact Group do not reflect Ukraine’s official position.

Individual comments made in an interview with Vitold Fokin, deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Minsk Trilateral Contact Group, do not reflect Ukraine’s official position. This was announced on Monday, August 31, by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.

“Let’s separate the personal position from the delegation’s position. Witold Fokin has just joined the negotiation process and is addressing the issue.” Ukraine’s national interests, “Ermak noted.

According to the head of the OP, the amnesty cannot be applied to people who committed war crimes, took hostages, tortured and killed prisoners, trafficked people, participated in terrorism financing and committed some other serious crimes.

Yermak also pointed out that the Minsk agreements and the Ukrainian delegation’s proposals to finalize the bill on the details of local self-government in ORDLO do not provide a special status for the entire Donbass; we are talking exclusively about temporarily occupied areas.

“There are clear red lines, which have been repeatedly evaluated by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Therefore, the position of the Ukrainian delegation at the Minsk TCG is fully consistent with the national interests of Ukraine,” he said.

On the eve of Fokin, in an interview with one of the publications, he said that it allows a total amnesty for the separatists in the Donbass, as well as a special status for the entire territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Let us remind you that on August 18, Fokin was appointed first deputy head of the delegation, Leonid Kravchuk, by presidential decree. Kravchuk, commenting on the appointment of Fokin, said he “knows Donbass well.”
