Zelensky survey: Ukrainians have decided the economic zone in Donbass

Additionally, respondents were asked “What exactly does a ‘free economic zone’ mean in your opinion?” openly, that is, respondents said “in their own words” exactly what they understood.

Overall, 32% of respondents reported that they were unable to answer the question. The remaining 68% gave answers that, on the one hand, demonstrate the diversity of understanding of the “free economic zone”. On the other hand, many of the respondents’ responses indicate rather a lack of a proper informed understanding of exactly what is being discussed, sociologists note.

The Kiev International Institute of Sociology conducted its own survey from October 17 to 19, 2020 using the CATI method throughout Ukraine, with the exception of the Russian-occupied territories. During the survey, 505 interviews were conducted. The statistical error of the sample (with a probability of 0.95 and excluding the design effect) does not exceed: 4.5% for indicators close to 50%, 3.9% – for indicators close to 25%, 2.7 % – for indicators close to 10%.

Recall, according to a KIIS poll, Ukrainians’ opinions on President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to conduct a poll during the local elections on October 25 were divided in half. Some respondents (44%) believe that this is a sincere intention, 44% – that it is a political technology.

According to the survey data of the Sociological Group “Rating”, the majority of Ukrainians (60%) know that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a national poll on election day on October 25.
