Agriculture (35%) is traditionally the leader in terms of the number of people employed in the 9 months of this year, followed by the processing industry and commerce (16% and 15%, respectively).
At the same time, from the beginning of the quarantine, from March 12 to September 30: 504 thousand Ukrainians received the status of registered unemployed; 324 thousand citizens were employed, of which 223 thousand were unemployed; 428 thousand people began to receive unemployment benefits; 396 thousand vacancies were in the database of the employment service.
As of October 21, 410 thousand unemployed people are registered in the employment service, 347 thousand of them receive unemployment benefits; and 67 thousand vacancies are in the database of the employment service.
It is also observed that the businessmen have delivered almost 223.7 thousand packages of documents to the employment centers, of which 195.45 thousand are sole proprietorships that are insured.
“This allowed 370.7 thousand citizens to make payments and save jobs, of which 181.6 thousand are sole proprietors,” says the State Employment Service.
Note that according to the State Statistical Service, in the second quarter of 2020, the unemployment rate relative to the entire working-age population increased from 8.6% to 9.9%, or 1.7 million of people.
