Mexico, after initial doubts, joined the agreement of the OPEC + countries to reduce oil production in order to maintain world prices for these raw materials.

According to him, Mexico agreed to reduce oil production by 100,000 barrels per day. He refused to reduce its volumes by 400,000 barrels, citing the fact that only recently had oil production increased with great difficulty.
For his part, Trump has promised to reduce oil production in the United States by another 250,000 barrels per day, López Obrador said.
OPEC + Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to cut oil production in May and June by 10 million barrels per day, only as a result of long hours of talks. This represents about 10 percent of world oil production.
OPEC + countries lacked Mexico’s consent to conclude the final agreement. It is unclear whether other OPEC + countries will be satisfied with the reduction in oil production as Mexico offers it.
