Officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrested for bribery of 400 thousand

The colonel demanded a “commission” from the owner of the company for making changes to the technical specifications of the goods, which would allow the company to participate in public procurement.

Law enforcement officers detained the head of the department of the Main Department for Clothing Property Development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine while receiving a bribe of 400 thousand hryvnia. This was announced on Thursday, November 12, by the press services of the Attorney General’s Office and the Directorate of State Investigations.

According to the investigation, the colonel demanded a bribe from the head of the company to make changes to the technical conditions of the tender, which would allow the company to participate in public procurement, the expected cost of which is UAH 4 million. The amount of “bribes” to the official was 10% of the purchase amount: 400,000 UAH.

Law enforcement officers detained the department head on November 12 in his own office while receiving part of a bribe in the amount of 100,000 hryvnias.
