The United Nations General Assembly supported the updated draft resolution “The situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine”.

The corresponding decision was announced by the president of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, which is posted on the Organization’s website.

64 UN member states voted in favor of the updated text of the resolution, 23 opposed and 86 abstained.

  • On December 7, the United Nations General Assembly supported the updated resolution “Problem of militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine, as well as parts of the Black and Azov seas”.
  • The text of the resolution states that the UN General Assembly “expresses serious concern about the progressive militarization of Crimea by the Russian Federation as an occupying state and expresses concern about the continued destabilization of the situation in Crimea as a result of the supply of modern weapons systems by the Russian Federation “.
  • According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the strengthened resolution on the Russian militarization of Crimea, adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 7, contains two new points.
