NSDC proposes to distribute weapons to Ukrainians

The corresponding bill will be submitted to the Rada for consideration in February-March. It is proposed to distribute 80 thousand units of firearms.

The National Defense and Security Council (NSDC) of Ukraine has developed a draft law on territorial defense, under which the Ukrainians want to massively distribute small arms for domestic storage. This was stated by the undersecretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Sergei Krivonos, on December 28 during a press conference.

Members of the terrorist defense are offered to distribute 80 thousand units of firearms.

Krivonos stressed that bill №4504 has already been discussed by the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada and with representatives of law enforcement agencies. It is based on the need for an effective response to external threats.

Sergei Krivonos is not afraid that members of the terrorist defense keep weapons at home. He noted that citizens already have more than a million weapons.

The bill is scheduled to be considered in parliament in February-March 2021.

It was also reported that the NSDC is offering to allow military service in the army. In this case, conscripts will be able to pursue a military profession without interruption from home and work.
