Meetings on the development of the defense industry
Alexey Danilov pointed out that the situation with the coronavirus in the country is tense, however, this is not the reason for the breach of the state order.
Compliance with the state defense order (SDO) for the current year is not satisfactory. This was stated by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexei Danilov, on Thursday, November 12, during a meeting on the development of the defense industry, reports the NSDC press service.
It is noted that Danilov announced an unacceptably low level of implementation by the central executive authorities of President Zelensky’s decree on the reform of the defense industry complex.
“The Secretary of the Council drew attention to the unsatisfactory compliance with the state defense order for the current year by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” the statement said.
It is also reported that the Secretary of the Defense and National Security Council of Ukraine declared the need to “take urgent measures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the work of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.”
“The situation is extremely tense due to the COVID-19 epidemic, but security and defense sector actors must fulfill their tasks in full. The Council’s decision of February 18 this year must be implemented,” said Danilov .
In this context, he called for a state approach to solving problem problems and pointed to the need to improve performance discipline.
Based on the results of the meeting, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Defense were instructed to take measures within two weeks to ensure the efficient use of state budget resources in accordance with the decisions made.
Recall that in February 2020, the NSDC approved the state defense order for three years, it was awarded 25.848 billion hryvnia.
Soon Zelensky put into effect the corresponding NSDC decision for 2020-2022. At the same time, the document is partially classified.
