On Sunday, March 7, the women’s chase race took place at the Czech Nove Mesto as part of the eighth stage of the World Cup.

Sprint winner Tiril Eckhoff led from the first to the last meter of the distance. In the face-down shot it worked perfectly and made three errors in the stands, which did not prevent the main contender for the Great Glass Globe from getting a double gold.

Ukrainian Julia Dzhima missed two goals and went third on the last lap, but she didn’t have much strength left for the most important segment of the race, so she finished sixth. The advance from 10th start to second was followed by Germany’s Danise Herrmann, and in the fight for the bronze medal Martha Roiseland was ahead of Lynn Persson and Franziska Preuss.

Daria Blashko performed consistently, holding 16th place with three open targets on the passive. As part of the Ukrainian team, only Valya Semerenko improved her position: the 33rd line in the final protocol after the 40th in the sprint. Elena Pidgrushnaya is the only Ukrainian woman who failed to score points in the general classification of the World Cup.
