There are not enough doctors in the Lugansk region for COVID-19 patients
The region has prepared a database of interns and they also plan to attract retired doctors to work with coronavirus patients.
In the Lugansk region, there are not enough doctors to work with COVID-19 patients, so the authorities plan to attract interns and retired doctors. This was stated by the head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration, Sergei Gaidai, in a briefing on Friday, October 16.
“Our main problem is that we have few doctors. Nobody especially wants to come to us. For this reason, we have prepared a database of interns who have studied for a year, two or three years, so that they can help. Even now we are looking for retired doctors. In a critical situation, we will try to involve them. We are preparing for the worst case scenario, “Gaidai said.
According to him, despite the difficult epidemic situation, local elections will be held in the region.
“If we see that we do not have 100-150 infected per day, but 500, then perhaps this issue arises. But so far no one has even ruled on the option of canceling the elections,” added the official.
