No sensations. Golovkin overtook Sheremet and ready for Canelo

It would be strange to expect any other outcome from the Golovkin-Sheremet fight. Even expecting a blow of hairspray from a Pole would be strange, so today there are no surprises: Golovkin won, looked good, and is ready to complete the trilogy.

Sheremeta had no chance

When it became known that Gennady Golovkin’s next rival would be one Kamil Sheremeta, many smiled. Seeing that the Pole had five early victories in the professional ring, doubts arose. Then after making sure the style was comfortable for an aggressive Kazakh, it became clear that the fight would not make it to the final.

It wasn’t clear what Camille expected. With such a punch to knock out a person who hasn’t been knocked down and not even close? Interrupt that Derevyanchenko-style? Sergei’s main advantage over the Pole is his boxing level. The Ukrainian is sometimes more skilled than Sheremeta. Sergei is not only a swordsman, but also a cool boxer. After some setbacks in his career, Gennady switched teams and worked with a nutritionist, an attempt to get back in shape several years ago. The nutritionist promised it too. According to him, due to proper nutrition, Golovkin will be able to recover faster in training camp and better withstand the load.

We can’t know exactly how it went, but the result seems to have worked. Golovkin did not give a single chance to his opponent, whom many compared for some reason to Derevyanchenko. Like, he and he love to keep going. But, if the outcome of the fight with Sergei is controversial, from the first seconds it was clear that the Pole was getting nothing.

Now it all depends on the outcome of the Saúl Álvarez – Callum Smith fight. The British man is huge, he is the size of an Usyk, he is strong and dreams of avenging his brother whom Canelo defeated in bearded times. But with its drawbacks and errors.

After the victory, Golovkin clearly hinted at what he was ready for:

“Tomorrow we will have a great show, everything will depend on the result. Anyway, I’m ready, ”GGG said.

Most likely, if Álvarez wins, his third meeting with Golovkin will be announced as soon as possible. Not surprisingly, their fights lined up one after another. There can be no coincidence.

Álvarez will not be easy. Also, with Smith, and beyond, in case of victory. He will have to decide where to box Golovkin, whether to return to middleweight to become an absolute, and how to do it wisely. Because any set and then losing weight is difficult for a boxer.

If Saul loses, and Smith is exactly the option with which such a result should be considered, there are other fighters. Just before the fight with Sheremeta, information appeared that Golovkin could meet Jaime Mungia, already in the winter of 2021.
