Since September 7, the updated zoning comes into effect in Ukraine, three regional centers entered the red zone at the same time.

Ukraine continues to break records in the fight against coronavirus, and this has just started the school year. On September 3, two anti-records were set in the country at the same time, for the number of new cases of infection (2,723) and for the number of hospitalized, 532 people. The number of coronavirus tests per day was also a record: 49,785.

The situation becomes more and more threatening. Meanwhile, the number of settlements falling into the red quarantine zone is increasing. But the local authorities, despite the infection, do not want to bear it.

Correspondent.net monitors the quarantine situation in the country.

Anti-registrations everywhere

During the last day, anti-morbidity registries were established in the Kharkov (371), Odessa (225) and Chernigov (100) regions.

The government extended the quarantine until October 31, at the same time, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal promised not to introduce a total lockdown, despite all the anti-registrations.

“The fight against the virus is not a question of political interests, but of people’s lives … The worst thing is that many are used to statistics and begin to perceive them simply as numbers and they take lightly the restrictions of quarantine. But COVID-19 is an integral part of our life, this is our new reality. Our common task is to help citizens adapt to it as quickly as possible, “says Health Minister Maxim Stepanov.

He compared the situation of the epidemic with the organization of trafficking.

Imagine a situation where people wouldn’t know that they need to stop at a red light. We can have roughly the same situation if, in the new reality, our citizens do not adhere to the basic rules of safety behavior. This week we received hundreds of photos of city day celebrations, festivals and concerts. We see the attitude of the people to the anti-epidemic measures and we can draw one and only conclusion: they all started crossing the street at a red light, ”said Stepanov.

New red zones

On September 7, the updated division of Ukraine into zones according to the epidemiological situation comes into force.

In particular, the red zone will include:

– the cities of the Ivano-Frankivsk, Kolomyia, Kalush, Kosovsky and Tysmenytsky districts of the Ivano-Frankivsk region;

– the cities of Belyaevka, Izmail and the Bolgradsky district of the Odessa region;

– the city of Dubno and the Kostopolsky district of the Rivne region;

– the towns of the Ternopil, Berezhany and Chertkov, Berezhansky, Buchatsky, Gusyatinsky, Monastyrsky, Terebovlyansky, Ternopil and Chertkovsky districts of the Ternopil region;

– Velikoburluksky district of the Kharkiv region;

– Chernivtsi, Vizhnitsky, Glyboksky, Zastavnovsky, Kitsmansky, Novoselytsky and Storozhinetsky city districts of the Chernivtsi region.

– Bobrovitsky district of the Chernihiv region.

In the red zone, public transport, visits to educational institutions, shopping and entertainment centers, cafes and restaurants are prohibited.

Regions against

Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal fell ill with coronavirus himself, but said the city was not going to enter any red zones. According to him, the decision to divide the country into zones is unconstitutional.

Nadal points out that the city does not receive any compensation from the state, despite the constant quarantine, but receives less funds. This could end the city’s economy dying.

So the mayor is not going to stop transportation or close schools and kindergartens.

The Ivano-Frankivsk City Council intends to cancel the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers on quarantine zones through the courts. Public transport will not stop in the city either.

The quarantine is not particularly observed in Odessa either. Health Minister Maxim Stepanov was outraged by the photos and videos of the city’s day celebration on September 2. “It seems to me that what we saw goes beyond common sense. Of course, the inhabitants of the city of Odessa, like ordinary people, trust the city authorities, who organize certain events, think that all this will be safe and go to the celebration. I have a question for the city authorities. I understand that you are all now in the elections, you are all living now with some kind of electoral process. Well, you know exactly what state the epidemiological situation is in the city of Odessa, you know exactly what the bed occupancy rate is for COVID-19 patients, you know exactly how many people die every day from this disease, you know for sure that such events represent a threat to the health and life of citizens ”, the minister was outraged.

According to Stepanov, you don’t have to be Vanga to understand that in a few days we will see an even bigger increase in the number of COVID-19 patients in Odessa.

Tymoshenko is easier

People’s Deputy Yulia Tymoshenko, who also contracted the coronavirus, said her condition had improved. Previously, her condition was assessed as serious, she even reported that she was hooked up to a ventilator.

“Almost two weeks of struggle with a serious illness change the feeling of reality. But we will talk about this a little later … And today, finally, we managed to survive the crisis, and although recovery is still far away, now there is an opportunity to return to normal life step by step. ” , – Tymoshenko wrote on social networks.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 130,951 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Ukraine, 2,761 patients have died.
