New gas reserves found in the Black Sea

Turkey has discovered new natural gas reserves with a total proven volume of 405 billion cubic meters.

New natural gas reserves of 85 billion cubic meters have been discovered in the Black Sea. This was announced on Saturday, October 17, by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to the Fatih drillship. The transmission was made on the Twitter account of the head of state.

According to him, the total size of the new field is 405 billion cubic meters.

In August, Erdogan reported that Fatih’s team had found 320 billion cubic meters of gas in the Black Sea, the largest blue fuel field in the country’s history.

“If on August 21 of this year we announced the discovery of 320 billion cubic meters of gas in the Black Sea, the latest work allowed us to increase the volume of proven reserves of the new field by another 85 billion, that is, up to 405 billion cubic meters, “Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader noted that Ankara intends to start gas production from these reserves in 2023.
