Some allergy sufferers experience a significant deterioration in health after vaccination.
An allergic reaction can be caused by the chemical polyethylene glycol, which is found in Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
In the United States, an allergic reaction was detected in five people to the COVID vaccine from Pfizer Inc and BioNTech. This was stated by the representative of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Peter Marks, reports Interfax-Ukraine on Monday, December 21.
According to him, the chemical polyethylene glycol, which is part of both the Pfizer vaccine and the recently approved vaccine from the American company Moderna, can cause an allergic reaction.
The FDA is currently investigating vaccine allergy problems, he said.
It was previously reported that two healthcare workers in the United States developed an allergic reaction after being vaccinated with the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines. Both cases occurred in Alaska.
The allergic reaction was similar to that experienced by two healthcare workers after being vaccinated in the UK last week. Allergy sufferers were then advised to avoid the Pfizer vaccine.
