Nestor Reverol – Venezuela shot down a US intruder plane

Relations between Venezuela and the United States have entered a dangerous new phase, which can end unpredictably. The Air Defense Forces of the Venezuelan Armed Forces shot down a plane with a US registration and identification marks. According to the authorities, the plane was used to transport drugs.

The Interior Minister of Venezuela, Néstor Reverol, announced this on Twitter.

“The Venezuelan military, having detected an illegal aircraft with the help of the Air Defense Command radars, activated the protocols established by law,” Néstor Reverol wrote and showed a photograph of the downed aircraft.

It also reported that the aircraft had illegally entered Venezuelan airspace in the Zulia state area.
