Opposition Alexei Navalny will be arrested upon his return to the Russian Federation. The arrest is planned in accordance with the fact that he is wanted.

This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.

The department of the Federal Prison Service in Moscow is reported to be “obliged to take all measures” to detain Navalny pending a court decision replacing the suspended sentence with a real one.

It is also reported that in December, Navalny was placed on the wanted list, as his actual location is not known since September 24. He will be detained in connection with “a willful violation of the conditional detention regime.”

We will recall, it was previously reported that Navalny is returning to Russia. According to him, he intends to arrive in Moscow on a flight from Berlin on January 17.

“The question of ‘come back or not’ never came up to me. Just because I didn’t leave. I ended up in Germany, having arrived there in an intensive care box,” he added.

Navalny has a suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case for involvement in fraud. In 2014, he was sentenced to 3.5 years of probation, although the company withdrew the claims during the trial. The ECHR considered that the sentence was arbitrary and unfounded.

Earlier, there was a journalistic investigation that eight FSB officers were poisoned by Navalny in Russia.
