Military toxicologists have established that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a substance from the Novichok group, according to the German Cabinet of Ministers.
This was stated in the government’s message.
According to a representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers, Navalny was poisoned with a nerve agent.
In this regard, Berlin asked Moscow to explain the circumstances of the incident with the opponent.
A representative of the German government said that the German chancellery would summon the Russian ambassador to Germany to discuss the situation with Navalny.
Russia’s reaction
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Moscow is still waiting for a response to the request from the Attorney General’s Office to Germany regarding Navalny. Earlier, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office sent a request to the German Ministry of Justice, to which is attached data from a pre-investigation check on the reasons for Navalny’s hospitalization. The prosecution’s request shows that no evidence of a crime has been found.
Russian President Dmitry Peskov’s press secretary said the Kremlin received no information from the Federal Republic of Germany that Navalny was poisoned with a substance from the Novichok group.
And the Novichok developer said that Navalny’s symptoms were not at all similar to Navalny poisoning. He called for the statement of the German authorities «political nonsense ”.

How Navalny Was Poisoned
Alexei Navalny was hospitalized in Omsk on the morning of August 20, unconscious. He fell ill during the flight from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing at Omsk airport.
Navalny was transferred from the plane to the intensive care unit and hooked up to a ventilator. He is in a coma.
Doctors in Omsk assessed Navalny’s condition as serious and refused to give permission for evacuation to a hospital in Germany.
The politician’s associates believe he was poisoned. At the same time, Russian doctors found no traces of the poison on the body.
After Navalny was evacuated to Berlin, German doctors confirmed that he was poisoned with a substance from the group of cholinesterase inhibitors.
