German doctors have disconnected Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny from the ventilator, he is already responding to verbal stimuli.
The health of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who has been at the Charite clinic in Berlin since 22 August after poisoning, has improved. This is indicated in a message on the clinic’s website.
“The patient came out of a medical coma and was disconnected from the ventilator. He responds to verbal stimuli. It is too early to assess the possible long-term consequences of his severe poisoning,” said Charité.
The doctors treating him are in close contact with Navalny’s wife, Yulia. The clinic noted that from now on the decision to make public the details of the opponent’s status “will correspond to his wishes.”
On August 20, the scheduled plane in which Navalny was returning to Moscow after a trip to Siberia, urgently landed in Omsk due to the probable poisoning of the politician.
Navalny was on toxic resuscitation ambulance n. 1 of the hospital in Omsk unconscious, was connected to a ventilator. Navalny’s main work diagnosis at the Russian hospital was called metabolic disorder.
Initially, Russian doctors did not allow the opponent to go to Germany for treatment, but later gave permission for transportation – On the morning of August 22, Navalny was airlifted to the Charite clinic in Berlin.
Traces of a nerve agent similar in composition to Novichok were found on Navalny’s body. This is stated in a statement by the representative of the German government Steffen Seibert.
