For the first time in 10 years, the ships of the Russian naval forces and NATO will conduct joint exercises. This was announced on Thursday, December 10 by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

The AMAN-2021 maneuvers will be carried out in February off the coast of Pakistan in the Karachi water zone with the participation of 30 countries. At the same time, 10 states will use the ship’s composition, while the rest will send official observers.

In addition to the ships of the Pakistan Navy and the Russian Navy, the exercise will be attended by the United States Navy, the Royal Navy of Great Britain, the Navy of the People’s Republic of China, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces, the Navy from Turkey, the Philippine Navy, the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Sri Lankan Navy and the Indonesian Navy, “the statement said.

Russia will be represented by a frigate, a patrol boat, a rescue tug, a Marine Corps unit, a demining squad and a sea-based helicopter.

The last time Russian Navy ships operated alongside NATO ships in 2011 off the coast of Spain as part of the Bold Monarch exercises.
