NAS Scientists Release COVID Forecast

The coronavirus is sweeping Ukraine

Statistics from Ukraine continue to show an increase in the number of infected people at a roughly constant rate.

Scientists from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine made a forecast for the development of the coronavirus epidemic, prepared by the Working Group on Mathematical Modeling. This was reported on Monday, September 14, by the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

“There is an increase in the proportion of patients (among all those infected), whose disease is known immediately with the fact of death, as well as an increase in the proportion of elderly patients, which is associated with the mortality rate. Increase in the proportion of these patients may also be a sign of worsening coverage of infections with tests in some regions. “, – said the scientists.

At the same time, according to the National Academy of Sciences, the number of people who have managed to overcome the disease is increasing.

“The rate of recovery is still much lower than the number of new infections. The proportion of people who actually recovered by self-isolation, but were not officially discharged or did not undergo repeated PCR tests, is probably growing. “admitted the experts.

Therefore, the Academy of Sciences said, Ukraine’s statistics continue to show growth at an approximately constant rate. The average of new infections on September 18 will be 3,000 cases and 50 deaths per day.

As reported, 154,335 COVID-19 cases were detected in Ukraine, of which 68,893 people were able to overcome the disease and 3,178 died.
