One of the main priorities of Armenia in the policy on Nagorno-Karabakh is the return of the territories occupied by Azerbaijan. And consideration of the rights of local Armenians must take place in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group peace process.
This is stated in the message on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
It is reported that today Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan received representatives of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group: Stefan Visconti (France), Andrew Chaffer (United States), the Chargé d’affaires of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, Alexei Sinegubov, as well as the acting representative of the head of the OSCE, Andrzej Kasprzyk.
At the meeting, the parties discussed a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh and the protection of the rights of local Armenians.
“As a priority of the Armenian side, Ara Ayvazyan emphasized the establishment of Artsakh status on the basis of the right of the Artsakh people to self-determination, the vacating of the territories occupied by Azerbaijan, the creation of conditions for the safe return of the Armenians from Artsakh to their homes, “the statement said.
Let us remind you that previously, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, accused Azerbaijan of provocations due to the aggravation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
On December 12, Armenia announced an attempt by the Azerbaijani army to attack one of the positions in Nagorno-Karabakh, as a result of which the Karabakh formations suffered losses. Azerbaijan called this incident an anti-terrorist operation.
