The Ukrainian coal mined according to the Rotterdam + formula was sold to consumers at the imported price.
The NABU recalled that in the framework of the Rotterdam + case investigation, six people were informed about the suspicion.
The National Anti-Corruption Office will appeal the decision of the Anti-Corruption Special Prosecutor’s Office to close the Rotterdam + case, which refers to the purchase of Ukrainian coal at the price of imported coal, plus the cost of delivery to Ukraine from Rotterdam. This was reported on Friday, August 28 by NABU.
According to NABU, SAP’s decision to close the case is contrary to the principles of the rule of law. “The investigation of this case was in the final stage, the detectives collected all the necessary and convincing evidence to send it to court and prove the guilt of the suspects,” the statement said.
The NABU recalled that, as part of the Rotterdam + investigation, the suspicion was reported to six persons, as a result of whose actions electricity consumers suffered losses of UAH 18.87 billion, which was confirmed by the relevant experts.
In turn, the SAP prosecutor, instead of sending the case to court, for reasons unknown to detectives, unexpectedly decided to close the case, allegedly on the basis of a lack of sufficient evidence and the ability to obtain it. NABU categorically disagrees with this decision. We will do everything legally possible. to reopen the investigation and take the case to court, “the statement said.
As reported, the prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Special Prosecutor Vitaly Ponomarenko, which oversees the investigation of the case according to the Rotterdam + formula, ordered its closure.
