Representatives of the judicial branch of government may be involved in the case
The National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine (NABU) has opened a criminal proceeding based on the decision of the Kiev Pechersky District Court to collect $ 350 million from PrivatBank in favor of the Surkis brothers’ companies. An attempt to seize the money is investigated.
This was reported by the NABU Public Control Board.
“On September 4, NABU opened criminal case No. 52020000000000566 on the fact of an incomplete attempt to take possession of the property of PrivatBank on an especially large scale. Among the likely defendants in the case are representatives of the judiciary of the government, officials of the Executive Service of the State, employees of six British companies associated with the oligarchs of Surkis “, reads the message.
As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, the Kiev Pechersk District Court satisfied the claim of offshore companies associated with the Surkis family against the state-owned PrivatBank. The case concerns the corporate deposit service for $ 350 million.
The Finance Ministry does not agree with the Pechersky Court’s decision to satisfy the demand to recover $ 350 million from the bank in favor of the companies of the Surkis brothers and will continue to protect the interests of the state and the bank. The next step is to prepare an appeal.
