Zaporozhye “Motor” won another (which is good) victory in the Champions League. In the postponed match of the eighth round, the Ukrainian team defeated the Croatian Zagreb.

The match was supposed to take place a month ago, but was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in the Zagreb camp. We remind you that the match in the first round was won by “Motor” with a difference of one goal. And the meeting in Zaporozhye was not easy.

The first half was completely even. The teams did not let go of more than one ball. And if we remember that our goalkeeper deflected one of seven meters, while his counterpart never, then the final score of the first part of the match (13:13) seems quite acceptable.

Let’s look at the general statistics of the meeting. 7 (!) Team players Zaporizhzhya, the Zagreb won penalties – 5. After the break, the rivals once had the advantage of two outfield players. However, both segments ended the same way: the team with such a numerical advantage managed to score a goal.

On the whole, the guests started the second half of the match with confidence, going ahead by two goals. However, the Cossacks gradually evened the score, and then came forward, brought the gap on the scoreboard to “+5” and did not allow to doubt their superiority.

The final 29:25 fully reflects the actual state of affairs. Motor scored 10 points after eight games and caught up with Aalborg, who has more per game. Both teams share 4-5th place in the group B standings. Zagreb have not scored a single point in seven games and deservedly remain at the bottom, occupying eighth place.
