Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has ordered preparations to begin for the deployment of large infectious disease hospitals in Kiev, Odessa and Mariupol in the event of an overload of the first and second wave facilities.
This was announced by the head of Rada’s health care committee, Mikhail Radutsky, on Facebook.
“By order of the president in Kiev, Odessa, Mariupol, preparations are beginning for the deployment of large infectious disease hospitals in case of an overload of medical institutions of the first and second waves,” the statement said.
According to him, he is now purchasing all the necessary equipment so that the new hospitals can start operating in a matter of days.
“We plan to locate hospitals in large existing facilities; in Kiev, it may be the Sports Palace. There is no such need yet, but we must be fully prepared,” Radutsky added.
We will recall, earlier, the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, said that preparations for the construction of temporary hospitals will begin in Ukraine in the event of a particularly high incidence of coronavirus. At the moment, out of 37 thousand beds, 21 thousand are already occupied.
It was also reported that in Ukraine they want to fine companies for non-compliance with the mask regime by their customers.
