Along with GeForce RTX 3000 graphics adapters, Nvidia Reflex technology debuted, designed to reduce system latency in fast-paced competitive games. The chipmaker’s specialists are working with leading game studios to ensure that it is supported by as many projects as possible, and today it has appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone thanks to a suite of GeForce 456.55 WHQL drivers.
Nvidia Reflex technology can be used with GeForce GTX 900 series and later adapters. According to the chipmaker, in the case of the GeForce GTX 1660 Super, it can reduce latency from mouse click to monitor reaction by about a third. Other Game Ready improvements to the GeForce 456.55 driver include various optimizations for Star Wars: Squadrons, as well as stability improvements for some games on GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards.
Additionally, the following bugs and issues were fixed in the GeForce 456.55 WHQL release:
- distortion in Omniverse 2020.2.4496 after switching from RTX Real-Time to RTX PathTraced render;
- Rendering latency in GeForce Eperience is kept at zero in games with Vulkan API;
- Several G-Sync compatible monitors have been removed from the corresponding list;
- slight increase in CPU utilization due to Windows event log;
- Nvidia Container Service can terminate when the system wakes up from sleep or hibernation;
- unable to set performance power mode on laptop from Nvidia Control Panel.
As always, you can download the new driver package with the GeForce Experience application or search the Nvidia website.
