Ministry of Health sent rapid tests for COVID to regions

In the Ukraine region, they sent 260 thousand rapid coronavirus antigen tests. Family doctors will now be able to perform tests.

In Ukraine, a rapid test screening for SARS-CoV-2 antigen was introduced. We have already received 260 thousand rapid tests. This was stated in a briefing by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Maxim Stepanov.

Next Wednesday, he said, another 1.5 million tests will be delivered to Ukraine. The Ministry of Health plans to carry out tests with this method at least 1 million tests per month.

“More than 260 thousand rapid tests have already been received, which have been introduced in Ukraine and sent to the regions of the country,” he said.

Now, he said, family physicians will receive coronavirus antigen tests to diagnose COVID-19 in patients.

“We changed the algorithm, we provided funding for family doctors. Now we want all family doctors to have antigen tests so that they can do the proper research,” Stepanov said.

According to him, the corresponding work should be established before December 23.

Earlier today, Stepanov said that the testing algorithm for COVID has been changed in Ukraine. Now, the test will be carried out in people who show signs of an acute respiratory viral infection, said the head of the Ministry of Health.
