Ministry of Health denies “free” tests for coronavirus in private laboratories

The Health Ministry explained that they will use the capacity of private laboratories to carry out tests, but the procedure will not change for patients.

Private labs will not test for COVID-19 for free. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health on Saturday, October 10.

“We will contract through our laboratory centers the capacities of private laboratories to carry out the tests. That is, our mobile or hospital team, which performs a collection from one person, will be transferred to private laboratories, which will perform the tests themselves on the appropriate laboratory equipment. This does not mean that now Private laboratories will start doing these tests for people on the street. We simply will not be able to control this, “said the head of the Health Ministry, Maxim Stepanov.

The day before, it was reported that COVID tests will be carried out in private laboratories; Ukrainians will supposedly be able to test for coronavirus in private laboratories for free, for which 100 million have been allocated.

Also in Kiev, huge lines formed to pass the COVID tests. People have to queue from the night before to take the exam. At the same time, those in line do not observe social distance.
