The Cabinet of Ministers does not expect gains from Naftogaz and Ukrenergo this year and the next three.
The Finance Ministry foresees that the largest representatives of the energy sector, Naftogaz and Ukrenergo, will work for the next four years.
According to the fiscal risk report, during this period, the Naftogaz group’s losses will exceed 21 billion hryvnia. According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, in 2020 NJSC losses will exceed 4.2 billion UAH, in 2021 – 7.5 billion UAH, in 2022 – 5.4 billion UAH, and in 2023 – 4.4 billion UAH.
The losses are explained by a significant decrease in the volume of gas supply by the company.
At the same time, Ukrenergo’s losses in 2020-2023 will exceed 26 billion hryvnia. In 2020, NEC losses will exceed 15.1 billion UAH, in 2021 – 3.5 billion UAH, in 2022 – 4.6 billion UAH, and in 2023 – 3.1 billion UAH.
At the same time, the optimistic scenario assumes a profit in 2021-2023.
Recall that in the first half of 2020, Naftogaz received a net loss of 11.5 billion UAH against 24.7 billion UAH of net profit a year earlier. During this period, the company paid 39.6 billion UAH in dividends to the state.
According to media reports, the audit revealed violations in Naftogaz amounting to more than 225 billion UAH, leading to direct budget losses amounting to more than 75 billion UAH.
