Ukraine should reach 65-68 ton figure

The Ministry of Economy predicts that Ukraine will harvest 65-68 tons of grain and maintain the status of an exporting country.

This year, a harvest of 65-68 million tons of grain is expected, so Ukraine will maintain the status of an exporting country, Economy Minister Igor Petrashko said during a briefing in Kiev.

“For the current year, we forecast various scenarios. The most realistic one for the harvest involves 65-68 million tons. This is less than last year, but still significant volumes that will allow us to guarantee food security in Ukraine, as well as maintain the status of large export countries, “said Petrashko.

Previously, the department had 60 million tons of grains and leguminous crops due to moisture deficit and economic factors caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2019 Ukraine harvested 74.3 million tons of grains and leguminous crops, and these are record harvest indicators.
