Miners in some mines in the Volyn and Lvov regions stopped working and demanded payment of back wages. This was announced by the director of the Independent Union of Miners of Ukraine Mykhailo Volynets on his Facebook page on Wednesday, December 9.

According to him, in Novovolynsk, the miners from the second shift of the Buzhanskaya mine have been underground since yesterday; they refuse to leave the mine. At the No. 9 Novovolynskaya mine, the workers of the first shift refused to go down into the mine and are advancing in an orderly direction towards the administrative building of the Volynugol State Enterprises Association.

In the Lviv region, 75 miners from the third shift of the Lesnaya GP Lvovugol mine went down to the mine, but they refuse to start work.

Volynets also recalled that miners from the Ukraine mine (SE Selidovugol) have been protesting in the Donetsk region since last week. And at the Kapitalnaya mine in Myrnograd, the miners finally stopped all work. At the moment they are blocking the road in the central part of the city, in the area of ​​the town hall building.

According to the head of the union, today in Kiev, near the Cabinet of Ministers building, employees of the state-owned Vostochny Ore Mining and Processing Plant are holding a protest action with demands to pay 143 million UAH of back wages. And restore the entire work of the company.

On the eve it was reported that in the Kirovograd region three uranium mines announced the completion of their work. All divisions of the SE Vostok GOK company come to a standstill and completely stop the production process.
