Workers from other companies in Krivoy Rog expressed their willingness to support the strikers: they have now declared an “Italian” strike.

The number of miners at the Kryvyi Rih iron ore plant, who remained underground in protest and demanding higher wages and better working conditions, has risen to 393. This was announced on Tuesday, September 8, by the president of the Independent Union of Miners of Ukraine Mykhailo Volynets.

According to him, 90 miners from the Gvardeyskaya mine, 60 miners from the Ternovskaya mine, 214 miners from the Rodina mine and 29 miners from the Oktyabrskaya mine are protesting.

Employees of other companies in Krivoy Rog expressed their willingness to support the strikers. Now they have declared an “Italian” strike.

Volynets said that on September 8, representatives of the central office of the State Labor Service should come to Kryvyi Rih, as the workers of the city’s enterprises complain about the work of the regional department of the State Labor Service, accusing their corruption officials and dependence on local employers.
