In the Lugansk region, more than a thousand hectares of forest steppe are covered by fires.

Almost 600 personnel and 84 units of engineering and automotive equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service participated in the fight against fires in the Lugansk region.

On the last day, September 2, separatist units violated the ceasefire in Donbass. The Ukrainian military was not injured. At the same time, two soldiers received burns while extinguishing fires, reported the press center of the Joint Forces operations headquarters in the morning report on Thursday, September 3.

It is reported that the enemy attempted to provoke the Ukrainian army with an indirect shot from a grenade launcher near Maryinka. However, the JFO did not open fire in response. There are no combat losses as a result of an enemy shot.

Since the beginning of the current day, no enemy bombardment has been recorded. Silent mode is fully preserved.

In parallel with conducting combat missions, sub-units of the Joint Forces and other components of the Defense Forces locate large-scale forest and steppe fires in the Lugansk region.

“In the Stanytsia Luhanska area, more than 200 hectares of forest-steppe are covered by fire, in the area of ​​the Lobachevo settlement, the fire occupies an area of ​​about 950 hectares,” said the JFO headquarters.

“During the extinction of the fire, two soldiers of the Joint Forces received thermal burns. They received first aid and were transferred to military medical institutions. The health of both soldiers is satisfactory,” added the headquarters.

The day before, the JFO headquarters mentioned the possible cause of the fires in the Lugansk region. The region still has a higher fire risk due to drought and high air temperatures.
